Become wise with WOOD

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.” - Bruce Lee

Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Wood are the elemental energies inside each of us. The Daoist philosophy focusses on balance and harmony. When these elements within are aligned, then life flows, life is easy. When they are not in balance life can be much more challenging, we experience stress, maybe suffer with illness or have emotional issues. If we can step into nature and find the element that works for us in that moment, then a resonance with that element and some healing can be found. When we can acknowledging the elements and recognize when we are in abundance or depleted we can find a connection to these fundamental energies.

We can learn to be navigators of our internal landscape and be aware when we are out of balance knowing there is a full spectrum of elemental energies available to us externally and internally. We are walking constellations, of these elements and our emotions can become a compass for us, showing us when we have lost connection and we need to tap into these ever renewing resources.

Learning tools such as Qi Gong, Breathwork and Toning we find that we really have everything that we need to live a healthy life with wisdom, with grace and vital energy. The element of wood is connected to the Liver and the Gallbladder, these organs are very much about making decisions and creativity. They restore and rejuvenate between the hours of 11pm and 3am according to the Chinese 24hour circadian clock.

The Gallbladder comes first renewing itself during the hours of 11pm and 1am, this is where we sleep, release bile, cellular repair occurs and we build blood cells. Have you ever noticed how withdrawn someone who goes to sleep super later on a regular bases? They aren’t allowing their Gallbladder to renew and restore and after a period of time this really takes its’ toll, so do go to sleep by 11am where you can even if it’s just a few nights in the week.

The Liver restores between the hours of 1am and 3am, this is where we are in our deep sleep, our blood detoxes and the body can really rest and recovery, the Liver does an immense amount of work in the body. Any help we can give it, is so well received. When your liver is healthy and strong, your body is ultimately toxin-free and you feel rejuvenated. Our immune system can functions well and we feel much more aligned with our life purpose.

Liver Qi Gong helps to give us a more sharpened focus and greater clarity, it also helps us to make better decisions.

The wood element is also created to our creativity, so it’s important that we spend time in our creative energy and spending time applying ourselves to a range of skills where our creativity can flow. So find out what creative pursuits you can explore and put some time aside to dive into it!
